COLOMBO: The envoy for Denmark, home to the world’s biggest container shipping line, met Sri Lanka’s ports and shipping minister for talks on investment opportunities, a statement said.
Peter Taksøe-Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka, met Arjuna Ranatunga Minister of Ports & Shipping on a visit to address an innovation summit held by the UNDP, the ministry statement said.
Taksøe-Jensen was keen to find out what investment opportunities are available in the ports and shipping sector, it said.
The two also discussed ways to strengthen maritime links between the two countries.
Denmark’s A.P. Moller-Maersk Group owns the world’s biggest container shipping line and also has a stake in Colombo’s South Asia Gateway Terminals facility.
