AMSTERDAM: Department of Agriculture (DA) has temporarily banned the importation of poultry and other poultry products from The Netherlands amid reports that the European country was hit with bird flu.
In a memorandum, the DA cited a report from the World Organization for Animal Health saying that The Netherlands was hit by H5N6, a highly pathogenic bird flu strain which also hit poultry farms in the provinces of Pampanga and Nueva Ecija in August last year.
