ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister House surrendered 48 vehicles to the Collectorate of Customs for conducting another public auction which will be held on October 25 at Islamabad Dry Port.
Talking with Customs Today, Additional Collector Mohammad Ishfaq Khan said that out of 49 vehicles of PM House, only one bullet-proof vehicle Mercedes Benz worth Rs10 million was sold in auction while rest of the 48 luxury vehicles have been handed over to FBR for another public auction which will be held on 25th of October at premises of Islamabad Dry Port (IDP) located at I-9 Islamabad.
Additional Collector Ishfaq added that during the auction held at PM House, only 4 to 5 vehicles got bidding because those vehicles which were offered for auction got very special features, ordinary people showed lack of interest in vehicles auction.
He added that people must understand that the vehicles that are being auctioned have special features which justify the higher price tags. He said that the Collectoarte will try its level best for selling of 48 vehicles on reasonable prices to generate maximum revenue for national exchequers.
“There is limited access for ordinary citizens to the Prime Minister House, which also showed less selling of vehicles against expectations,” another customs officer who was present during the auction process said.
