ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad seized 1412 non-duty paid vehicles and 822 offending vehicles along with various type of smuggled goods worth Rs16453 million so far during Fiscal Year 2018-19.
Sources of Customs Department told Customs Today that all field formations of customs department are showing outstanding performance under the supervision of Member Customs Operations Dr. Jawwad Awais Agha.
He said that anti-smuggling squad impounded vehicles worth Rs1804 million, offending (vehicles use for carrying smuggled goods) worth Rs9398 million, foreign origin cloth worth Rs436 million, betel nuts in worth Rs1192 million, worth Rs322 million, arms ammunition in worth of Rs85 million, food grains in worth of Rs386 million.
He further told that Customs ASO seized tea in worth of Rs46 million, tyres and tubes Rs146 million, auto spare parts in worth of Rs95 million, liquor in worth Rs18 million, timber Rs9 million, petrol Rs1.06 million, diesel Rs309 million, mobile oil Rs8.7 million, silver and gold Rs60 million, fake and smuggled cigarettes in of Rs129 million, electronics Rs152 million, carpets Rs16 million, pirated CD/DVs Rs1.7 million, blankets Rs9.5 million, toys Rs9.5 million, medicine Rs58 million, dinner set crockery Rs2.4 million, Pan Prag Rs65 million, gutka Rs377 million, toiletries Rs7.7 million, cooking oil and ghee Rs0.537 million mobile phones Rs273 million while Customs and I&I seized different goods worth Rs1043 million during the above said period.
