ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate has sought advice from Member Customs FBR Nasir Masroor Ahmad after the Sindh High Court’s decision that Ayyan Ali’s name be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Sources informed Customs Today that, in a letter, the Member Customs collectorate has been asked whether to approach the court against this verdict or not. The Collectorate has already written complete history of Ayyan Ali case and has asked the FBR to guide it about the future line of action.
Customs Collector is expecting that they will receive FBR’s guidelines until Wednesday (tomorrow). Sources confirmed that the Customs will follow the plan as directed by the FBR. It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs authorities challenged the removal of Ayyan Ali’s name from the ECL in the Sindh High Court. The Customs authorities adopted the stance that the case was beyond the jurisdiction of the Sindh High Court.
In their plea, the Customs authorities said that this case happened in Islamabad, so this case should be filed in the Islamabad or the Rawalpindi High Court.
