KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Preventive has shown interest in purchasing two or more modern scanners to boost its security related arrangements. As per details, these scanners could be used at national airports, seaports, land board stations, customs baggage machines.
The Deputy Director Headquarters Yasir Wahab said that the competent authority believes that latest scanners would be useful in diffusing any possible security related threats. The Customs Preventive has clarified that the purchase would be made under the Scanners Ppra Rules 2004 and directed the interested investors to participate in tender process by applying through two single stage envelopes.
“The participants who will be bidding stage are informed that deal will be made through fixed price lump-sum contract basis. The requirements, technical details, needs and rules of the bidding are available at www.fbr.gov.pk/tenders andppra.org.pk/tenders and same can be download from these websites till May 17, 2017. ”
He said that the interested parties and individuals, which would place their bids, are advised to submit their bid till May 17, 2017, 11am. The officials would open the sealed envelopes at 11:30am at Conference Room, Fifth Floor, Customs House, Karachi, in front of parties or individuals who would take part in the process.
“Those parties or individuals who will send their bidding through post service, should make sure that their undersign bid will appear at the concerned section of Customs House at least one day before the bidding take place.”
Yasir Wahab informed that the Customs Preventive is also holding a pre-bid meeting on May 03, 2017 at the Conference Room, Fifth Floor, Customs House, Karachi, where interested parties and individuals would be briefed about the requirements and their questions would be answer by the concerned officials.
“Such people are advised to bring pay-order or bank draft of worth two percent of the total bid, which should be in name of the Collector Customs, Customs Preventive Karachi. The bids which arrives late or without security money or submitting without signature of concerned person(s) or did not follow the due procedure would be eliminated on technical grounds.”
He mentioned that the Customs House would not debate or discuss the rates as they would be fixed and final whereas the electronic budding would not be considered at any conditions. The purchasing agency has rights to cancel all or any bid as per section 33 of Ppra Rules 2004.
