ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate seized non-duty paid goods amounting to Rs 11.6 million during 3rd week of May.
Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector Preventive Shahid Jan said that Customs Preventive is working efficiently to curb smuggling from its jurisdiction. The deputy collector said that a special anti-smuggling campaign was launched on the advice of the Federal Board of Revenue during third week of May (14th May to 20th May). During the campaign, the Customs Preventive staff showed outstanding performance in foiling smuggling attempts.
He said that during the above said period anti smuggling squad seized 510 kilograms of cloth Kg Cloth value of Rs 2,40,975, auto parts value of Rs 6,300, offending vehicles 6 Nos value of Rs9.807 million, tyres 238 Nos value Rs7,44,315.
Deputy Collector said that anti smuggling squad also seized miscellaneous goods in value of Rs 92691, cigarettes in value of Rs331800, electronics 12 items value Rs277620, Black tea 130 kilograms value of Rs 40950, medicences value Rs73500. The net worth of seized goods and items is Rs11.6 million.
