LAHORE: The Haj operation preparations have been completed by the Customs Preventive, and the first Haj flight will take off on July 24 from the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.
According to the sources on Wednesday, Haj lounge has been renovated for pilgrims. Additional staff of the Pakistan Customs, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been assigned the duties in this regard.
A total of 100 shifts, consisting of 12 members each, will perform their duties for immigration during the Haj flights operation while customs staff will work in two shifts.
The Civil Aviation Authority has also finalised its all arrangements for the Haj operation.
The Pakistan Customs Preventive is fully committed to providing every possible facility to the Haj pilgrims at the Allama Iqbal Airport, an official of the customs told Customs Today on Wednesday. For this purpose, special duties have been assigned to the officers at the Lahore airport. The Haj operation will continue for one month during which over 160,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will reach Saudi Arabia for Haj.
