LAHORE: Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization Tuesday detained two luxury vehicles worth Rs 5.6 million.
Official sources told Customs Today that on the information of collector of customs Zuliqar Younis ASO team led by superintendent Munawar Khan intercepted a Land Cruiser MX/100 model 2004 near Railways station and detained it as the owner failed to produce clearance documents. The Land Cruiser was valued at Rs 5 million.
Meanwhile the team also intercepted a non-customs paid LRF/ 8055 Honda Civic worth Rs 6 million near Scheme Mor. The customs inspector and deputy superintendent Ijaz Rasool, Abdul Qayoom Bhutter and Mazhar Bhutter were also part of team.
The sources said that customs authorities after detaining the vehicles grants time to owners to produce legal documents of vehicles. Source said that in case the parties failed to produce documents the vehicles would be seized.
