KARACHI: The Customs Department has paid Rs 0.5 million medical bill of former hockey goalkeeper Mansoor Ahmed.
Mansoor, suffering from heart ailment for the last one month, was admitted in the ICU of a local hospital. The goalkeeper’s heart is functioning at 20 percent and other organs have also started failing. He had appealed to the prime minister to pay for his treatment. The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) also paid remaining amount of Rs 1 million.
Now cricket allrounder Shahid Khan Afridi has also offered to pay for the medical treatment of Mansoor Ahmed. Announcing his offer on Monday, the former Pakistan cricket captain said that his NGO, Shahid Afridi Foundation, would bear all expenses of the Olympian’s medical treatment.
