KARACHI: The officers of Pakistan Customs demanded Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to organize effective training courses, programmes and seminars for Customs officers.
They were of the view that the working of Pakistan Customs has been affecting due to the absence of latest and contemporary techniques in the several departments.
One of the senior officers of Pakistan Customs informed Customs Today that about 40 per cent of Pakistan Customs’ officials up to Grade 16 of total 100 per cent are technical and aware by the latest technologies, while remaining do not aware of latest techniques.
He further disclosed that majority of Customs officers of Grade 17 and above were not aware of technical and legal aspects.
Expressing his concerns, the officer said that the importers and exporters were taking full advantage of the recent situation and making attempts of tax evasion and other crimes.
“Customs officers were of the view that the FBR should initiate effective and proper training sessions, courses and programmes for making the working environment more effective.
