FAISALABAD: Newly appointed Collector Customs Doctor Asif Mehmood jah, after assuming the charge of MCC Faisalabad, immediately established a free dispensary for the officials and officers at the Customs House. The facility was non-existent ever since the establishment of the dry port in 1994.
On the occasion, participants lauded Dr Asif Mehmood Jah’s services for the ailing and needy humanity. They said his work for the welfare of the needy was matchless, outstanding and beyond any comparison.
It is pertinent to mention here that he has earlier set up healthcare clinics, schools and mobile hospitals in all the four provinces which are providing healthcare as well as educational facilities free of cost to the poor and the needy.
Dr Asif Mehmood Jah, besides being a professional and experienced customs officer, is also a renowned social worker who has recently been conferred Sitar-e-Imtiaz by President of Pakistan in recognition of his services for the needy across the country. He has been in the forefront in serving the people hit by natural calamities including floods and earthquakes across the country.
Faisalabad Dry Port Chairman Mushtaq Ali Cheema praised his humanitarian work and professional contribution to the revenue generation and wished him well for his endeavors to provide relief and medical assistance to the ailing humanity.
Superintendent Rana Mukhtar Ahmed said Dr Asif Mehmmod was lucky enough to have been selected for the wellbeing of the humanity.
A large number of customs officers, including Additional Collector (ADC) Ghulam Mustafa, ex-Collector Shafqat Mehmood, Deputy Collector (DC) Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Collector (AC) Shah Samad Hamadani, Fazal Mehmood, Ameer Ahmed, Faisalabad Dry Port (FDPT) Chairman Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Trustee of Dry Port Mian Latif, Sheikh Ishfaq Ahmed and a large number of businessmen, participated in the event.
