ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs has introduced Annex-C and Annex-D form for undertaking of vehicles to maintain the expenditure of confiscated and tempered vehicles.
Sources told Customs Today that high official of customs department designed a two-leaf form (Annex-C and D) on orders of chairperson Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The form “C” contains data where undertaking is needed in words that “name and designation of field formation as well as written that I do hereby undertaking on solemn affirmation that the confiscated vehicles surrendered by this office earlier in compliance of Board’s letter No.6(3) Coord/2004-Misc dated 26-04-2018, shall be brought into personal use by any officer and shall only be used for limited operational purposes as mention in the board letter No.15 (3) E&C/2018”. It is also mentioned that ”I also undertake to maintain the relevant record i.e. log book, movement register and expenditure details of these vehicles”.
Sources said that according to said form the MCC has designed a chart containing details of expenditures statement of the confiscated tampered vehicles i.e description of vehicle, model, expenditures on repair and total amount in rupees.
The sources said that FBR has directed the MCC Islamabad to impose Annex-C and Annex-D after Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took a suo motu notice regarding utilization of the vehicles such as Land Cruiser, Pajero, Prado, SUA, etc by the ministers/officers beyond their entitlement.
