QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta impounded four non-duty paid luxury vehicles worth Rs26.50million.
The sources told CT that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta Iran Javed received secert information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-duty-paid luxury vehicles from Quetta into Karachi.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced the vigilance on the Quetta Highway Road and started a search operation of the vehicles. During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration No: KL-446 of Karachi, which was heading out of the city.
During the checking, the customs team took into possession four non-duty-paid vehicles (Two Land Cruiser Delight 1800 cc) and two BMW cars worth Rs26.50million.
The customs team seized all the luxury vehicles and apprehended four persons involved in smuggling identified as container driver Zabiullah Khan, Sarfarosh Khan, Mujahid and Suleman and one unidentified cleaner.
The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta registered an FIR against smugglers.
