MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (FBR) has seized different vehicles and goods of worth Rs.12.50 million during the month of October of the on-going fiscal year 2016-17.
According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation has conducted various anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles throughout the month of October. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Office has formed six various seizure cases in October in their territory during their anti-smuggling activities.
Majority of the seizure cases were formed in the Dera Ghazi Khan location and their adjoining areas in the anti-smuggling activities of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation. There were three seizure cases formed in the Dera Ghazi Khan and remaining three seizure cases were detected in the Multan and Sadiqabad Region.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation impounded foreign origin smuggled vehicles including Toyota Fielder, Toyota Corolla X, Toyota Corolla X, Hino Coaster, buses and others during the month of October in their various actions in the jurisdiction.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation has enhanced the monitoring of the Dera Ghazi Khan Region due to rampant smuggling of goods and vehicles from Baluchistan through Sakhi Sarwar and its hidden routes adopt by smugglers for transportation of non-customs paid vehicles and goods.
Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) staff of Dera Ghazi Khan Unit has made smuggling almost impossible for them due to their strict monitoring of suspected routes and it has also resulted into less movement of smuggled goods and vehicles in the month of October.
The smuggling trends have also been reduced due to cooperation of Customs Intelligence and law enforcement agencies to curb smuggling in the territory.
