MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation generated Rs22.03 million through the auction of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation held public auction of seized miscellaneous goods and vehicles in Raja Pur Office near Khanewal Road. Confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods were seized in different anti-smuggling actions. There were 14 smuggled vehicles of different brands and models offered for the public sale. Huge number of bidders participated in the auction process.
As many as 7 impounded vehicles were sold out after successful bidding in the auction. Customs Intelligence sold out these 7 vehicles in Rs8.5 million. The vehicles which were offered for auction included Toyota Fielder, Honda Civic, Honda Hybrid, Suzuki Swift, Toyota Vitz, Honda Hilux Surf, Hino Prime Mover, Toyota Mark X, Hino Range truck, Volvo dumper and others. These confiscated vehicles were non-tampered and non-duty paid. Customs Intelligence offered these confiscated vehicles for auction after completion of legal procedure and trial from Customs Adjudication.
The Customs Intelligence also sold 5 lots out of 10 miscellaneous goods worth Rs 13.53 million during auction. The lots included tyres, rims, Iranian grease, 76800 kilograms of Indian origin rice, plastic paper scrap, plastic beads and others.
Assistant Director Javed Raza and Senior Intelligence Officer Syed Qaswar Shah supervised the whole auction process.
