HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate MCC Hyderabad seized smuggled vehicles, Iranian diesel, cloth, liquor, contraband items, cigarettes, pan parag and other goods items worth Rs. 511,482,499 during fiscal year June 2014-15
According to details, Collector Dr. Ahmed Mujtaba Memon starts different campaigns against smuggling during the year 2015-15 and seized above said items successfully. The Collector forms raiding teams under the supervision of Additional Collector Riaz Ahmed Memon Additional Collector Omer Shafique assistant collector Mr. Samiullah. The team comprising deputy superintendent Sikander Akbar Panhwar inspector Mr. Khair Mohammad Pathan inspector Momin Shah Mohammad Ali Lohar Mr. Saleem Shah inspector Mr. Waqar Baig inspector Mr. Shafi Mohammad inspector Qazi Touseef inspector Mr Arif Khan inspector Mr. Syed Aqil Hussan Jafri inspector Mr. Mushtaq Ali Lakho and other staff took part during the operation
Talking to Customs Today MCC Hyderabad Collector Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon appraised the performance of the anti smuggling organization adding that the collectorate is improving its performance over the time by adopting effective measures against the smuggling and has seized different Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Helix Surf Land Cruiser Prado, and other vehicles 72 worth Rs 154,850,000 non duty paid vehicles worth Rs 43,600,000 non-duty paid motorcycles worth Rs 80,000 foreign origin cloth measuring 255,872 yards worth Rs 17,476,072 foreign origin tea 17,756 kg worth Rs 6,518,650 foreign origin tyres and tubes 2285 worth Rs 13,746,500 auto spare parts worth Rs 8,532,000 liquor worth Rs 3,000 petrol 4,800 liters worth Rs 336,000 smuggled confiscated Iranian diesel 1,225,236 liters worth Rs 86,021,738 motor oil /Mobil oil 2430 worth Rs1,088,000 grease 10 worth Rs 8,000 cigarettes (fake foreign origin 189 ,200 cartons worth Rs 32,313,320 electronic goods worth Rs 16,122,950 carpets 155 worth Rs 936,000 foreign origin blankets 1,991 worth Rs 3,626,300 foreign origin toys 338 pieces worth Rs 268,750 medicine 400,000 contraband items Gutka (all brands/ origin) 2,315,500 worth Rs 20,315 ,750 pan parag patti tobacco 114 ,000 sachets worth Rs 1,140,000 foreign origin toiletries worth Rs 6,005,030, foreign origin cooking oil 486 worth Rs. 97,200 and other Misc goods items worth Rs. 97,227,239 total of worth Rs 511,482,499 during the anti smuggling drive.
He said that MCC Hyderabad is fully gears up to curb smuggling menace from Hyderabad region.
