PESHAWAR: The Customs House Peshawar has collected an amount of Rs1052. 209million revenue within 15 days of December during current Financial Year under the head of all duties and taxes.
This was informed by sources close to the Collector Customs of Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar on Friday.
The MCC Peshawar in previous FY2016-17 was able to generate an amount of Rs879.98million in 15 days of December. During current FY 2017-18, the MCC Peshawar has generated Rs172.229million more revenue than the target of revenue collection made in 15 days of December during previous FY.
The sources said that the Collector Customs, at a meeting with customs high-ups, discussed the revenue collection and imposition of Customs Duty on the entities of the region. The Collector Customs was also informed of the issues faced during the revenue collection.
The MCC Peshawar has generated Rs455.22million Customs Duty in 15 days of December during current FY2017-18 which has been more than Rs295.88million generated in 15 days of December during previous FY2016-17.
The MCC Peshawar has generated an amount of Rs340.59million as Sales Tax in 15 days of December during current FY2017-18 against Rs295.89million received in 15 days of December of previous FY2016-17.
In the same way, the MCC Peshawar got Rs248.43million under the head of all withholding taxes in 15 days of December during current FY 2017-18 against Rs202.78million generated in 15 days of December during previous FY2016-17.
The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar in the same way generated an amount of Rs7.96million of Federal Excise Duty in 15 days of December during current FY2017-18 against Rs5.7million done in 15 days of December in previous FY2016-17.
The performance of the customs staff was lauded by Collector Customs Gull Rahman who committed himself to not spare the culprits who are causing the national exchequer losses.
