LAHORE: Customs General Post Office authorities recovered millions of rupees marijuana from a parcel sent from Canada to an address in Model Town Lahore.
The Customs authorities after registering a case have started investigations into the matter.
The customs official sources said that parcel was sent to Pakistan from Canada in the name of a resident of Model Town Tariq Khan and the same was containing illegal Rs10 millions marijuana from parcel.
The sources said that upon suspicion the customs GPO official opened the parcel and recovered the illegally exported drugs.
The authorities on the instructions of Deputy Collector Moazzam Raza lodged FIR and ordered investigations into the case.
The sources said that Customs Intelligence and Investigation authorities have initiated raids to arrest the accused person the case.
Earlier the customs GPO authorities foiled a bid to smuggle Rs480 grams of high quality of cocaine from a parcel sent from Peru.
The customs I&P also started raids in this case at various places to arrest the accused in the case who is said to be residents of Kas.ur
