LAHORE: Customs Preventive staff at General Post Office (GPO) has foiled a bid to smuggle artificial cocaine worth Rs 3 million from Brazil to Pakistan.
Sources told Customs Today that the customs officials opened a parcel and recovered 230 gram artificial cocaine which was tactfully hidden in a sandwich maker.
The drug was sent from Barazil on an address of one Musa who is a resident of Badian Road Lahore. The customs authorities have started investigations after registering a case.
It is said that a team has been constituted by the Customs Investigation and Prosecution Department to arrest the suspects involved in the crime.
It is necessary to mention here that Customs teams deputed at GPO recently foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Canada. After seizure of the drugs, the customs teams further tightened their checking procedure.
