KARACHI: Customs Exports recovered Rs 100,000 and Rs 96,000 respectively from two companies which are located in rural Sindh. Both companies found involved in tax evasion.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Export issued a show cause notice to the management of M/s Shams Associates, directing them to deposit evaded tax amount at the earliest. While the same kind of notice was issued to M/s Hudabia Textile Mills which is located in Kund Yaro. Sources said that during the scrutiny of the import data it was revealed that both companies imported various consignments of garments and plastic material by using wrong PCT heading.
Sources said that these companies also availed undue benefits and concessions by using SRO 566. After detecting tax evasion both companies were directed to deposit evaded amount of taxes within seven days otherwise stern legal action will be taken against these companies. After receiving the final show cause notice both companies paid the outstanding amount of taxes.
Sources said that Customs Exports also issued notice to M/s Taloot and Sons. The company imported consignment of raw material and availed undue benefits. The customs authorities sought explanation from the company within seven days.
