KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs Exports has served three show cause notices and two final notice on tax defaulters and tax evaders for recovery of dues.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Exports issued notices to five companies, including M/s Humza Ghazanffer and Co, M/s Gulfam Hosiery, M/s Faisal Traders and others.
M/s Humza Ghazanffar and Co used wrong Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings to get a consignment of different kinds of imported plastic accessories cleared on August 23 and caused the national kitty a loss of Rs6.90 million.
During the scrutiny of the import data, the Customs Exports detected the misuse of the PCT heading for which it was issued with a show-cause notice no: 256/2017 for paying the evaded amounts of tax and duty.
Meanwhile, the Customs Exports unearthed another tax evasion committed by M/s Gulfam Hosiery who got cleared a consignment of cotton fabrics.
The customs authorities, after a careful investigation, served a show cause notice to the company and warned it to deposit the evaded tax amount within fortnight.
Another company M/s Faisal Traders cleared a consignment of leather leather and others. The customs authorities issued a show cause notice and mentioned to submit all the documents for consignment soon and submit a balance amount.
M/s Zarish Assosiates belonged to Karachi who got cleared a consignment of children suits and used wrong Pakistan Customs Tariff headings and caused a loss of Rs7.85 million to national exchequer.
