KARACHI: The Customs Exports has recovered evaded taxes and duties amounting to Rs 14.73 million from defaulter companies which were issued with notices to pay the outstanding dues.
Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of the import data, it was revealed that M/s Unique Garments and Export availed undue benefits and concessions by importing different consignments and misusing the SRO567.
The company founded involved in a tax evasion of Rs 5.23 million. After detecting tax evasion, the Customs Exports issued them with final notice on November 21, 2017 to deposit the evaded amount within 14 days. After receiving the notice, the management of the M/s Unique Garments and Export deposited the evaded amount in the official account of the Customs Exports.
On the other hand, the management of the M/s Raheela Enterprises Gulbai Karachi also cleared Rs3.50 million of taxes and duties. Sources said the M/s Raheela Enterprises Gulbai Karachi also availed undue benefits and concessions and avoided paying taxes according to the customs bylaws.
The Customs Exports authorities issued them with a final notice on November 23, 2017. After receiving the notice, the management of the Raheela Enterprises Gulbai Karachi deposited the evaded amount of taxes.
Sources told that another defaulter company M/s K K Chemicals deposited Rs 6 million against the final notice No: 251/2017 issued on Nov 22, 2017.
