LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling will hear a post-arrest bail plea filed by Manzoor Ahmad allegedly involved a tax evasion of Rs 80 million on Thursday (today).
As per details, Manzoor Ahmad has been charged for tax evasion on allegedly filing fake tax returns and other statements to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The accused owned a textile factory located on Raiwind Road, Lahore. The accused has allegedly evaded Rs 80 million in the wake of sales tax from 2013 to 2014 in one year.
On intelligence information, the Inland Revenue (IR) team raided the factory and arrested the owner. A case was registered against him under Pakistan Sales Tax Act.
Later, he was produced before the court of Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan seeking his physical remand, which was granted. After completion of physical remand, the court sent him on judicial remand.
The accused, Manzoor Ahmad has also moved a petition seeking post-arrest bail that is scheduled for hearing today on Thursday.
