KARACHI: The Customs Court on Wednesday directed investigation officer to complete investigation and submit final charge sheet against Muhammad Ishaq son of Muhammad Naeem, owner of M/s Al-Saudia Enterprises, Syed Mubashir Ali Qadri son of Muhammad Ali Qadri, Sikandar Mirza, proprietor of M/s Realex International and others, who was booked in a case of evasion of duties and taxes through submission of fake and forged documents showing under invoiced/ suppressed transaction value of the goods.
During the hearing, investigation officer appeared before the court and seeks time to complete investigation, therefore, court adjourned the matter.
On last date of hearing, investigation officer had submitted interim challan against suspects namely Muhammad Ishaq so of Muhammad Naeem, owner of M/s Al-Saudia Enterprises, Syed Mubashir Ali Qadri son of Muhammad Ali Qadri, Sikandar Mirza, proprietor of M/s Realex International and others which was accepted by the customs court.
According to the challan, during the investigation, it was revealed that above mentioned importers in active connivance with their clearing agents have mid-declared C&F value of the imported goods and submitted fake and fabricated import invoices to evade legitimate amount of government revenue in the tune of Rs15,717,601.
According to the interim charge sheet, suspects Muhammad Ishaq son of Muhammad Naeem, owner of M/s Al-Saudia Enterprises, Syed Mubashir Ali Qadri son of Muhammad Ali Qadri are in custody, however, Sikandar Mirza, proprietor of M/s Realex International is on bail and only one suspect namely Abdul Khaliq is still absconder in this case.
Case was registered against them for violation of under section 2 (s) 32A, and 79 of Customs Act, 1969 punishable under clauses 1, 8 (1) 14 A and 46 of section 156 (1) of the Customs Act, 1969 read with allied laws.
