LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended judicial remand of a suspect allegedly involved in tax evasion.
According to details, Tahir Iqbal was involved in tax evasion and he was booked by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Gujranwala. Iqbal used to import goods from China through Mughalpura Dry Port Lahore and was allegedly involved in under invoicing. He caused a loss of Rs 5 million to the national kitty.
He was on physical remand for investigation. After the expiry of his remand, the FBR Gujranwala investigation team presented him before the Court of Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan who sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
The Customs Court has also asked the prosecution team of the FBR to submit complete challan of the case in the next hearing.
