LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned the case of an accused until Monday. He was arrested by the customs authorities from Lahore Airport.
Sources told Customs Today that a suspect, Ibrar Islam, was apprehended by the Customs Preventive from the Allama Iqbal International Airport while he was travelling to Muscat. During the search of his luggage, the customs officials found 550 gram of gold that he was trying to smuggle from Lahore into a Gulf state. The customs registered a case against Ibrar and confiscated the gold.
The customs investigation and prosecution team presented him before the customs court and sought his physical remand which the court approved for three days. He has also got a bail from the court.
The customs authorities have registered a case against him under Pakistan Customs Act-1969.
