LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has issued arrest warrants of the accused Faheem Ahmed who is involved in tax evasion of Rs 230 million.
Customs Appraisement Mughalpura detected tax evasion on goods imported from Thailand and an exercise to recover evaded revenue has been initiated by the customs. Customs started investigation and asked the court to issue arrest warrants of the accused.
It is necessary to mention here that M/s Serab International imported a consignment of surveying instruments from Thailand that were declared with value of $1155.
During assessment Customs Appraisement found that worth of the imported consignment is more than $10k. Accused party caused loss of Rs4.4 million to the national kitty.
