LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved the post-arrest bail of an alleged cloth smuggler.
Accused Sarfraz Ahmad was in jail on judicial remand after completion of physical remand in the custody of the Customs Investigation and Prosecution.
Earlier, the Sialkot Customs Investigation and Prosecution team produced the suspect in court after the expiry of his physical remand and requested the court to send him to jail on judicial remand.
Sarfraz Ahmad was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency following the charges of cloth smuggling. Later, the FIA handed over him to customs department on the orders of the Customs Court.
According to the allegations, the accused was allegedly involved in smuggling of cloth and other items from Afghanistan through KPK and Baluchistan.
