KARACHI: Customs (Taxation & Anti-Smuggling) Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi granted after-arrest-bail to accused named Muhammad Adnan, proprietor of M/s AD International Export & Import, TV Colony Peshawar, who is booked in a case of mis-declaration.
During the hearing, counsel for accused/ applicant moved an application for bail and argued that his client is innocent and was implicated in this case therefore court may grant his bail till the decision of the case, so the court granted his bail against the surety of Rs500000 and directed him to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
Meanwhile, Investigation Officer Muhammad Ahmed, Appraising Officer, Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement West, Custom House Karachi, appeared before the court and submitted the final challan of this case. According to the challan, during the investigation, it is established that the proprietor of M/s AD International Export & Import with the connivance of their accomplices has knowingly and wilfully committed mis-declaration of their goods which incur a loss on the national exchequer.
According to the prosecution, case was registered against Muhammad Adnan and others in violation of Section 2 (s) 16, 19, 32, 79, 121 and 192 of the Customs Act-1969 read with Section 3 (1) of Import & Export Control Act-1950 punishable under clauses 8, 9, 10A, 14, 45, 63, of Section 156 (1) of the Customs Act-1969 read with Section 3 (3) of the Import & Export (Control) Act-1950.
