LAHORE: The Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended the judicial remand of the accused allegedly involved in smuggling of gold, diamond and precious watches, for another 14 days.
Earlier, the court had sent the accused to jail in on a 14-day judicial remand. Customs investigation and prosecution team of Customs Preventives had presented an investigation challan against the couple.
As per the detail, customs authorities at Lahore airport recovered smuggled diamonds, 2.5kg gold and eight watches of Rado brand worth Rs15 million from passengers, Rana Muhammad Rafique who was travelling from Sharjah to Lahore.
After arresting them, the customs investigation team presented him before the court and got their physical remand for further interrogation. However, the hearing of the case has also been adjourned until next week.
