LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved extension in judicial remand of a suspect who was arrested from Sialkot International Airport while making an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency.
Altaf Hussain was arrested red handed with foreign currency worth Rs 37 million. He was going to Sharjah while the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him and handed him over to hte Sialkot Customs.
Earlier, the customs court has approved bail plea of three suspects in this case who were arrested from Sialkot airport on March 1 for assisting the main accused in currency smuggling.
The Customs Court has granted bail to three suspects, Adnan Afzal, Imran Khan and Muhammad Irfan, while the main accused is still in jail on judicial remand.
