KARACHI: Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has extended the interim pre-arrest bail of suspect namely Muhammad Nazim Minai in a case of mis-declaration. The court also issued non-bail able warrants against the absconding suspects.
Earlier, counsel for Minai appeared before the court and filed an application for bail. He argued that his client was innocent and was falsely implicated tin this case. He said the suspect was ready to face trail, however, he had the apprehension of arrest, therefore, the court might grant him bail till final judgment of the case.
After the arguments, court had granted his bail against the surety of Rs 200,000 and issued notices to the customs authorities and special prosecutor for the customs department. Court also directed suspect to appear before the court on next date of hearing.
On last date of hearing, investigation officer had produced First Information Report (FIR) before the court and informed the customs officials registered a FIR against suspects namely Sohail Umer son of not knowing and Muhammad Nazim Minai, Aslam Minai for mis-declaration, after his arguments, FIR was taken on record by this court and court also had issued non-bail able warrants against the absconders.
According to the prosecution case was registered for violation of under section 2 (s) read with serial no 2 of SRO 566 (1)/2005 16, 32 (1) 32 (2) 32A, 131, 192 of Customs Act 1969 read with section 6, 7, 8 of the control of narcotics substances act, 1997 and section read with section 4 of the drags act, 1176 and other section.
