LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent three accused persons to jail on extension of judicial remand of 14 days in smuggling of Indian made saris.
Sources told Customs Today that three accused namely Sajjad Qureshi, Abdul Sattar and Hammad Ahmad were arrested by the customs authorities when they were making attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of Indian made saris.
Investigation team of Customs Preventive produced them before the court and asked for three days physical remand. On request of the investigation team customs court handed over them to the investigation team for further investigations.
Customs court after hearing both parties approved 14 days judicial remand of the three accused and sent them to jail. Customs preventive has registered a case against the accused under Pakistan customs act of 1969.
