KARACHI: The Customs Taxation & Anti-Smuggling Court adjourned the hearing of case against suspect namely Muhammad Mansha son of Muhammad Anwar and others, who presented concocted/ altered/ false forget and tempered documents to customs department in order to conceal actual facts of the consignment at import stage.
Earlier, counsel for the accused had moved bail petition and submitted that his client is innocent and was falsely been implicated in this case, who is ready to face trail, therefore, court may grant his bail.
After the arguments, court had granted his bail against the surety of Rs. 2, 00,000 and directed him to appear before the court on next date of hearing. Court also issued notices to the special public prosecutor for customs department and investigation officer for next date of hearing.
According to the prosecution, during the investigation, it was found out that goods declaration dated 08/06/2017 filed by M/s Malik Brothers Logistics Pvt Ltd on behalf of importer M/s DCS Pvt Ltd declaring value @ $794.98 whereas, the detailed scrutiny of documents manifested original office company of detention receipt revealed value of @$ 7947.98, moreover, scrutiny of documents further revealed that the clearing agent M/s Malik Brothers Logistics at the time of clearance of goods provided/ presented concocted, altered, mutilated, false, forget and tempered DR and invoice to customs department in order to conceal actual facts of the consignment ( CCTV parts etc) at import stage.
Case was registered against suspects for in violation of under section 16, 32, (92) 32 A of Customs Act, 1969 punishable under clauses 14, 14A & 77 of section 156 (i) ibid.
