LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling adjourned the hearing of post arrest bail plea of three accused involved in smuggling of Indian made saris.
According to details available to Customs Today, three accused namely Sajjad Qureshi, Abdul Sattar and Hammad Ahmad were arrested by the customs authorities when they were making attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of Indian made saris.
They were arrested from Faisalabad. Investigation team of Customs Preventive produced them before the court and asked for three days physical remand. On the request of the investigation team, the customs court handed them over to the investigation team for further investigations.
After completion of the physical remand they were shifted to jail on judicial remand. They also filed plea for post arrest which was adjourned for Monday.
Earlier during hearing of the case in first time accused Sajjad Qureshi asked for pardon from the court and said that this is their first mistake. The honorable court stated that you people are lucky that you have arrested in your first attempt, its mean God has saved you from sins.
Customs preventive has registered a case against the accused under Pakistan Customs Act of 1969.
