KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed the field formations/ Collectorates to certify the covering letters of the Pakistan Customs officers, seeking encashment of leave for 365 days.
“It has been noted that the field formations generally forward requests/proposals of BS-16 officers to the board for grant of leave encashment for 365 days without going through the record/facts that the officer concerned has also availed leave during the last year of service,” according to a letter issued by Qasim Khan Khattak, Secretary Mgt. Customs-III.
“It has also been noted in few cases that the cases were forwarded to the Board despite the fact that the officer concerned did not have the required leave balance at his credit”, the letter added.
In view of above, the competent authority has directed that in future the field formations, while forwarding such cases to the Board should invariably certify in the covering letters that the officer concerned has the required 365 days LFP at his credit and has not availed any kind of leave (LFP/LHP/EOL) during the last year of his service. Without such certificate in the letter, the cases will not be processed, letter concluded.
