FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) has collected Rs1.4 million through auction of non-duty paid goods and vehicles during the auction process of 17th of January of Fiscal Year 2017. The auction was held on the premises of Customs Dry Port Park.
Sources told Customs Today that different types of 100 lots of smuggled goods, including tyres and tubes, vehicles, heavy duty generators, auto-parts, kid suits, solar panels, fans, cloth and various LEDs, were put on auction. All the items were seized by the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) staff during the Fiscal Year 2016. During the bid, six miscellaneous items were successfully auctioned.
The auction was held through open bidding where everyone was given opportunity for the bidding of confiscated goods and vehicles. Superintendent Muhammad Javeed said all of the items were confiscated under the Customs Act-1969.
It is worth mentioning here that the model customs collectorate (MCC) generated Rs 560,000 after the sale of Lot No: 2016-17, fork-lifter, Rs 310,000, Lot No: 16, Rs 160,000, Lot No: 115, Rs 900,000, Lot No: 36, and Rs 55,000, Lot No: 105 during the auction period.
Deputy Collector (DC) Rana Falik Shair supervised the auction process along with Khadim Hussain to ensure transparency.
