LAHORE: Customs Central Region has registered growth of 9 per cent by collecting Rs 90 million federal excise duty (FED) during the current month of August against Rs Rs82 million during the same period last financial year, official data revealed.
As per detail, Collector of Customs Appraisement being headed by Collector Muhammad Sadiq collected Rs 12.82 million during the period review against the same period of last financial year while the Customs Preventive under the supervision of Collector Zulfiqar Younas collected Rs 47.57 million during the month of August of Fiscal Year 2016-17 against Rs 26.79 million during the same period last financial year.
The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 29.72 million during the month of August against Rs 16.66 million during the same period of last financial period, the data explained. Similarly, the Collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 0.01 million during the period under review. On the whole, the Central Region was able to collect Rs 90.12 million during the period of August against Rs 82.37 million during the same period of last financial year, according to the data.
