LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized Rs 5 million smuggled tyres from a godown located in Badami Bagh while the team also recovered dry fruits which were transported from Quetta.
Sources told Customs Today that the ASO on the directions of Collector of Customs Preventive Ahmad Rauf has started crackdowns on smuggling activities. On the collector’s information the ASO team recovered Rs10 million of worth tyres from Badami Bagh.
The team has shifted seven trucks of the smuggled tyres to the State Warehouse while an FIR has also been registered.
In yet another action the ASO team intercepted a truck loaded with dry fruits at Multan Road and recovered Rs 5 million fruit. The dry fruit also included almonds and ‘anjeer’.
Cases have been registered while further investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.
