LAHORE: Anti Smuggling Organization, in pursuance of information of Collector Customs (Preventative), Lahore raided the Godown and residence of Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Haroon and Abdul Qayyum, at Gari Shahu, Lahore and recovered huge quantity of foreign origin cigarettes, gutka, sheesha flavors, tobacco Guru 300, cigars etc consisting of three Mazda trucks, having value in millions from the possession of one who was later identified as Dilroze Khan available on the spot.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Preventive authorities received credible information about smuggling of non duty paid cigarettes. He immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Nasir Minhas, Deputy Superintendent Agha Qadeer, Deputy Superintendent Mazhar Butter, Nasir Saeed, Sajjad Bukhari, Inspectors Mansoor Elahi, Gulzar Bhatti, Mughal-e-Azam, Asif Nawaz, Tariq Baig, Ijaz Butt, Javaid Iqbal Butt, Abdul Qayum Butter, Abdul Ghaffar.
It is necessary to mention here that ASO teams already expedited their efforts to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
