Customs ASO impounds 560 Samsung brand smart phones

LAHORE: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has foiled a bid to smuggle 560 sets of smart phone of Samsung.

Sources told Customs Today that following information of Collector of Customs Preventive Ch Zulfiqar Ali that a huge quantity of Samsung mobiles phones would be supplied to the electronic market of Lahore,  an ASO Lahore team raided a goods transport Ada at Nicholson Road and seized 560 mobiles phones worth Rs 8,400,000.

The sources said that the ASO team after seizing the mobiles registered an FIR against the accused persons including Muhammad Salim son of Gulzar Ahmed, a resident of Gujranwala, Zahid of M/s Mobile Palace and Shaukat, a resident of Karachi and others.

The source said that the millions of rupees mobiles have been seized by the Customs authorities. The accused persons are booked under section 2(s)16-156 (i) (1) (89) -157-178.

It was added that the customs authorities after registering a case have started further investigations and started raids to arrest the accused in the case.
