LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Ant-Smuggling Organization (ASO) on Wednesday recovered 3,840 non-duty paid mobile phones from a vehicle. The market value of seized mobile phone is Rs 7,065,000/-
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Preventive Faiz Ahmad received information about smuggling attempt. He constituted a team which intercepted a Honda Civic car bearing registration no: LEJ-07-170 on Mall Road.
During search of the vehicle, the ASO staff recovered 24 cartons of mobile phones. The ASO team opened the cartons and recovered Q-Mobile of L1 Classic 2,240, G6 1540, L9 40 models. While 80 mobile batteries, 90 mobile chargers, 80 hand free and other mobile phone accessories were also taken into custody.
The team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding possession and transportation of these mobile phones but he remained failed to provide any relevant documents. Customs ASO team seized the mobile phones and the vehicle and started investigations after registering a case.
