KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has been directed to remain vigilant and provide round-the-clock to services to improve trade activities at Wagah border.
According to the source, Pakistan is expected to give Non-Discriminatory Market Access (NDMA) status to India after which the negative list will be abolished and trade of 1,209 items will be allowed between the two countries in coming days.
The authorities have asked the customs for taking necessary steps to keep the Wagah boarder operational during 24 hours throughout the year to make trouble free trade between the two countries.
Both the neighbours have shown interest in keeping the Wagah and Attari border open round-the-clock throughout the year and to facilitate the opening of bank branches in both the countries.
Pakistan and India have also agreed to provide access without any discrimination to each others markets and the central banks of the two countries have agreed in principal to give licenses to the banks nominated by the respective governments.
