KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement West has collected Rs 25,037 million duty and taxes under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the month of January 2017.
The official sources told Customs Today that the Customs Appraisement West collected a total of Rs 25,037 million as duties and taxes in the month of January 2017 that included Rs 9,472 million under the head of customs duty, while Rs 10,960 million collected as sales tax, Rs 4,418 million as income tax and Rs 187 million as federal excise duty.
The Customs Appraisement West collected Rs 2,224 million on the last working day i.e January 31, 2017 that include Rs 747 million as custom duty, Rs 1,046 million as sales tax, Rs 416 million as income tax and Rs 15 million as federal excise duty.
So far, the Customs Appraisement West has collected a total of Rs 174,225 million duties/taxes since July 1, 2016 till January 31, 2017 that included Rs 69,916 million as customs duty, Rs 73,289 million as sales tax, Rs 29,871 million as income tax and Rs1,148 million as federal excise duty.
The sources said Collector Appraisement West Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi felicitated the staff for achieving the revenue target and emphasized to continue the same spirit in the future as well.
