FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate has collected Rs 8055.56 million during three month (January-March) of fiscal year 2017 against the set target of Rs 6714.39 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Appraisement Faisalabad collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during the above said period.
According to revenue statistics, the Customs Appraisement collected Rs 2069.45 million in the share of customs duty against the set target of Rs 1172.80 million with a increased of 170 percent in first three month 2017.
The Collectorate collected Rs5886.29 million in share of sales tax during the said period against the set target of Rs5301 million with an increase of 111 percent.
Faisalabad Appraisement branch collected Rs98.04 million in wake of income tax during the said period against the set target of Rs210 million with an increase of 47 percent.
The Collectorate collected revenue of Rs1.78 million in share of federal excise duty (FED) against the assigned target of Rs 30.59 million with an increase of 6 percent.
It is pertinent to mention here that that Deputy Collector Usman Tariq is quite satisfied with the performance of the Collectorate in connection with the revenue collection during the last year of the first three months of the fiscal year 2016 while he stressed the authorities concerned of the Collectorate to further expedite the pace of revenue generation for getting more effective results.
It is pertinent to mention here that Customs Appraisement has surpassed the revenue targets altogether set by the FBR in three months of the first quarter of the fiscal year 2017.
