Customs Appraisement issues show cause to M/S Asma Traders

LAHORE: The model customs collectorate Appraisement Mughalpura Dry Port has issued a show cause notice to M/S Asma traders as they were allegedly involved in illegal movement of detained goods of from one container to another.

According to details information was received by Collector Jamil Nasir Khan that an importer attempted to shift the detained goods illegally to another container near gate of the Mughalpura Dry Port. Inspector posted at gate Muhammad Ashfaq Tahir received a telephonic call from higher authorities of customs that M/S Asma Traders is illegally moving 105 cartons of LEDs. These LEDs were imported from China and were detained by the customs authorities in violation of customs rules.

Sources told that the alleged party was involved in misuse of intellectual property rights when their goods detained at dry port they tried to shift that material from container to a Mazda truck. Imported consignment was cleared as container VAIU 8119575 through GD No: LAPR-HC-17968.

On information Inspector Muhammad Ashfaq took speedy action and traced the container near parking area and a Mazda truck too which was being loaded by the detained goods. At that time 80 cartons were shifted to the Mazda truck which then shifted back to premises of dry port.

Now for further investigation Customs Appraisement has issued a show cause notice to M/S Asma traders at their address House No. 18, Street No, 14 Canal Park Baghbanpura Lahore.

On other hand Asma Traders has told Customs Today that the procedure was legal and they never transferred any material from any container at dry port so they will fight against customs at all forums.

M/s Asma Traders reserves the right to appeal against the orders within 60 days of the receipt of the orders under rule 103 of licensing rules 2001.
