ISLAMABAD: A single bench of Customs Appellate Tribunal relisted couple of customs references challenging announcements made by field offices of Federal Board of Revenue on Monday.
Muhammad Nasir Khan, Member Technical of Customs Appellate Tribunal would hear the cases filed by Appellants, Zamanul Haq and M/s Indus Laboratory.
Appellants, Zaman Ul Haq and M/s Indus Laboratory had challenged decision announced by appellants in all of the said cases had challenged customs collectorate’s decisions before the tribunal relating to import of machinery by the appellants.
The department had seized the imported items owing to queries about classification. The appellants had prayed the tribunal to direct the department on release of imported items. These cases were pending with the tribunal since last year. Appellants, Zamanul Haq and M/s Indus Laboratory had also filed some other references before the tribunal which were being heard by different benches.
On the last hearing parties involved did not appear before the tribunal even on the last hearing. Taking notice of the absence, the bench then had adjourned hearing but on Monday tribunal had issued warning regarding absence of parties involved.
