NEW YORK: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized over $61,000 dollars’ worth of narcotics over the weekend at a Laredo port of entry.
According to CBP, the seizure happened on November 18th at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge when officers referred a 2006 Ford Explorer to secondary inspection. The vehicle was driven by a 34-year-old man from Monterrey, Nuevo Laredo. When agents searched the vehicle, they found four packages containing 8.02 pounds of alleged cocaine.
The narcotics had an estimated street value of $61,880. CBP officers seized the narcotics and the driver was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security for further investigation.
