KARACHI: Deputy Collector Customs Preventive (Headquarters) Ali Raza has said that the Custom Department is playing a vital role in curbing drug smuggling.
In an event, which was organized by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) at Sadequain Gallery, Ferer Hall, the deputy collector delivered a key note address to the gathering. He said that the Customs is playing a vital role in curbing smuggling of the drugs which is ruining the lives of young generation.
He said that not only the customs, but the other law enforcement agencies are also working to create awareness about the hazard of drugs. However, he said that the people’s help is required to the drug paddlers.
Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Headquarters also appreciated the role and efforts of Anti Narcotics Force and said that awareness events as well as programs must be held which give better alertness about drugs and its lethal outcome.
During the event ANF poster competition / exhibition was also held in which 300 students of 30 different schools participated. Force Commander Anti-Narcotics Force Sindh Brigadier Noor-ul-Hassan, Director General Excise Shoaib Siddique and DIG CIA Dr Jamil Ahmed were also present during the event.
It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Headquarters Ali Raza attended the event on the half of Collector of Customs Collectorate Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo who was not available due to undisclosed reasons.
